To celebrate Dietitians Week 2024 and supporting the theme "From classroom, to clinic and beyond" we have asked Martina Rea, Dietitian (Fresenius Kabi Ireland) aabout her first role in dietetics and what her advice would be for anyone looking to start a career within dietitics.

My first post was as a Basic Grade Dietitian in a large teaching hospital. This was a fantastic first job as I rotated through a large number of specialties giving me the opportunity to learn, develop and identify my areas of interest.

"My biggest piece of advice"

Never lose your sense of professional curiosity! As dietitians, we are critical thinkers and problem solvers. Never be afraid to ask questions and learn something new and be the best advocate for your patient.
