#KabiCares: Kalinga Mula sa Kabi

This collaborative effort aimed to raise awareness, provide support and make a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer.

Fresenius Kabi Philippines Inc. conducted its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October 2023, in collaboration with one of the biggest tertiary government hospitals in Manila, Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Cancer Center. This collaborative effort aimed to raise awareness, provide support and make a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer.

Dr. Carl Lawrence Arenos, Medical Oncologist started the momentous day with a lecture on breast cancer prevention and basic nutrition guidelines for cancer patients. This was followed by another health talk from Fresenius Kabi’s in-house Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian, Pamela Ambat, focusing on the risks of malnutrition and ways to address nutritional Patients and caregivers actively engaged during the talk by sharing their questions as well.

After the health lectures, employees of Fresenius Kabi Philippines Inc. facilitated a variety of enjoyable activities for cancer patients, including booths with games, games and nutrition counseling. These aimed to provide comfort, relaxation and valuable information to patients and their caregivers during their cancer journey. Fresenius Kabi also conducted wet sampling of Supportan Drink, an Oral Nutritional Supplement adapted to the metabolic changes in cancer patients, to provide patients with an opportunity to be aware of it nutritional benefits and experience its excellent Cappuccino flavor.

Overall, the partnership between Fresenius Kabi Philippines Inc. and the Philippine General Hospital Cancer Center demonstrated their joint commitment to support individuals affected by breast and cancer and create a supportive environment for their journey.
