Claraxo

  • ClaraxoTM I.V. 500 mg for injection is a sterile, lyophilized product for intravenous infusion that contains Clarithromycin. Clarithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic, white to off-white crystalline powder. 

ClaraxoTM is indicated in adults and children 12 years and older. It is indicated whenever parenteral therapy is required for treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms in the following conditions;

  • Lower respiratory tract infections
  • Upper respiratory tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Disseminated or localized mycobacterial infections due to Mycobacterium avium or Mycobacterium intracellulare 
  • Localized infections due to Mycobacterium chelonae, Mycobacterium fortuitum or Mycobacteri kansasii
     

ClaraxoTM is available in USP Type I glass vial along with Sterile Water for Injections I.P. 10 ml.
  • Adults: 1 gm daily, divided into two 500 mg doses
  • Children older than 12 years: As for adults
  • Children under 12 years: Not recommended
  • Elderly: As for adults
